COCO LEAH - 'SUNRISE' (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)

Born in Toronto and raised in Mississauga, Coco Leah has always been influenced by music. As a child,

she grew up listening to a variety of music, including ‘40s, ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s ‘Oldies’ to R&B, Soul, Rap, Hip

Hop, Jazz and Blues to name a few. From very young, she started using music, poetry and dance as

therapy, an outlet to express herself.

In Coco Leah’s earlier years, she took piano classes as well as played the recorder. During her earlier high

school years – 2000/2001 – she took vocal and instrumental classes where she fell in love with the drums

and also played the trumpet and french horn. She later joined the school band playing the drums.

In her final year of high school – 2004 – Coco entered into the talent show singing one of her favourite

R&B songs, “For you I will” by Monica. Although singing, writing and performing was always a dream of

hers, this talent show solidified her passion and desire to pursue music.

In 2001 Coco Leah started recording covers like “Locked Up” by Styles P and Akon with her own

originality. Between 2005 and 2008, she recorded her Demo cd, “Real Life” in Toronto. In 2008 Coco

was introduced to H&F (Hustle and Flip) where she worked with artists Junia-T and Mason Payne and

producers such as Klixx and Cyph.

After taking some time off to have her son, Coco Leah began writing again and in May 2014, she began

performing steadily. Between 2014 and now in 2015, she has performed at various venues in Toronto

and Mississauga.

Currently, Coco Leah is performing and promoting her demo and will have the cd out soon. She plans to

begin performing in different cities all over the GTA this year and will have her YouTube page up soon as

well.

In 2015 Coco Leah plans to have some videos out as well as her upcoming Album, “Chapter One” and Mix

tape. Look out for her demo, “Real Life” coming out in April and her performance and interview on the

Nikki Clarke show on May 27th.
